RU SCI TECH Forum 2012

Thank you to all of those who attended the First International Forum of Russian-Speaking Science and Technology Professionals last weekend in March in Cambridge.

Based on the feedback received so far the Forum has proven to be a success and we look forward to similar events in the future.

The Russian-Speaking science and technology community was represented by over 100 participants from 25 different countries across the globe.

A comprehensive schedule of presentations was delivered over the two days of the conference and these stimulated many interesting questions and discussions.  In particular, attention was focused on improving and extending collaborations with Russian institutions and how to counter obstacles impeding this goal.  A number of examples of international scientific institutions and projects were reviewed, which assisted with the identification of the critical success factors for future initiatives for collaboration.

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (SkolkovoTech) was represented by its key decision-makers, who shared their insight about the ethos, strategy, structure and expected outcomes of this new ambitious organisation.  Conference participants expressed a significant interest to this project and towards potential collaborations with SkolkovoTech using its evolving mechanisms for engagement with the international scientific community.

A summary of the conference findings and photographs are now avilable in the “Summary” section. Presentations can now be downloaded from the “Speakers” section – by clicking on the respective titles of the talks.
